Eden Prairie Dental Building Adds Solar Power!

The Eden Prairie dental building at 7825 Terry Pine Court has added a large 24 panel solar system to their roof to supplement building power needs. The building houses Hultgren, Hoxie, Waki Orthodontics on the lower level and Derr Dental on the upper floor. The dentists are showing great leadership in environmental stewardship for the use of both green roof technology and the utilization of a solar power system. The system utilizes 24 Sharp 224 W panels with a maximum output of 5376 W. This advanced system has separate inverters for every panel and each individual panel and inverter’s performance can be monitored through the Internet from anywhere in the world. The new high-performance solar photovoltaic cells and lower systems costs has made solar systems final achieve a cost justifiable payback ratio. The system is part of Xcel energies solar rewards program which helps fund the installation of solar systems throughout their client area. They also qualified for the Minnesota State Solar Rebate Program. With the 30% Federal tax credit and accelerated depreciation schedule granted to businesses utilizing solar energy the system will have an extremely short payback period of less than two years. The photovoltaic panels have a warranty of 25 years and a life expectancy of over 100 years, making solar power one of the best long-term investments any business or home can make. The Sharp Panels, Enphase inverters and UniRac mounting system are made in the United States of America. The system was designed and installed by Energy Remodeling and Consulting LLC an Eden Prairie company specializing in alternative energy power sources and energy neutral buildings.
